The disaster from Katrina would have 'dampened' any governor's hope for a normal state. Now almost 2 years later it is time to move on. The next governor's job will not be any easier. New Orleans is sucking the state dry with their inablility to get anything done. It was a mess prior to Katrina and post Katrina it is still a public relations disaster with the the crime that is in the headlines daily. It would be nice to have a 'clean slate' for governor and lt. governor. This state has an array of problem areas that are being neglected because of the focus on the New Orleans area.

After serving 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and know what decisive decision making capabilities can be accomplished with the right kind of lean forward approach to leadership, I’m glad that we have politician who realizes their inability to lead and make decisions to save the citizens of our great state, and pardon herself away from the priveledge of public service. Our state needs more leaders who resemble military leadership, “We serve with respect, dignity and integrity and are above reproach at all times.” That kind of leadership would propel this state ahead of our peers.
